YOUR LEARN TO SWIM ATTENDANCE GUIDE
Absences, Make-Up Lessons & Keeping Your Child’s Place
KEEPING YOUR CHILD’S CLASS PLACE
Your child’s place is reserved in their regular Learn to Swim class each week. Even if your child is absent, their place
remains available for their return. Our holding fee and make-up lesson arrangements help keep that place available while
providing flexibility when life doesn’t go to plan.

QUESTIONS WE OFTEN GET ASKED
NEED HELP? We’re here to help.
If you have any questions about your child’s lessons, please speak with our Reception team.
Why is there a holding fee?
The holding fee reserves your child’s regular class place while they are absent and contributes towards a make-up lesson.
If I provide plenty of notice, why is a holding fee still charged
Providing notice helps us manage attendance and make-up lesson availability. However, your child’s place remains reserved in their regular class and cannot be permanently allocated to another student.
What if another child attends the lesson as a make-up?
Your child’s class position remains reserved exclusively for them. A make-up swimmer temporarily fills a vacant place but does not replace your child’s enrolment position.
What happens if I miss my booked make-up lesson?
When a make-up lesson is booked, a place is reserved specifically for your child. If the make-up lesson is missed, it is considered used and cannot be rebooked or transferred to another date. Any holding fee credit applied to that make-up lesson is also forfeited.
What happens if I miss my booked make-up lesson?
When a make-up lesson is booked, a place is reserved specifically for your child. If the make-up lesson is not attended, the make-up lesson opportunity is considered used and cannot be rebooked or transferred to another date and the holding fee credit opportunity is forfeited.
What happens if I do not pay the holding fee?
Paying the holding fee confirms that you wish to retain your child’s place in the class. If the holding fee is not paid by your child’s next scheduled lesson, we are unable to continue reserving the class place and it may be offered to another family.
Can I use a make-up lesson after my lessons have finished?
No. Your child must have a current lesson booking when attending a make-up lesson. Once your enrolment has ended, unused make-up lessons cannot be redeemed.
How long do I have to complete a make-up lesson?
Make-up lessons must be booked and attended within 6 weeks of the missed lesson and are subject to class availability.
